What is your role within the company?
My official job title is Operations & Marketing Manager, I help with the general operation of the business, making structured suggestions about the future of the company, assisting Andy with informed decisions. The main bulk of my job falls within the marketing bracket. Not only do I manage and run the Sutton Hospitality social media accounts, I also run them for our various clients. This means I complete various reports, conduct market research, complete content templates, graphics, branding, and so forth! In house we also do any printed collateral the business or our clients require such as leaflets, magazine articles, banners and more! No two days are the same!!
On a day to day basis, if you could only name three tasks that had to be completed, what would they be?
- Social media content scheduling
- Website maintenance for SHC and our clients
- Some sort of design elements, whether it be leaflets, brochures or magazine ads!
What is your favourite part about working with Sutton Hospitality?
Being part of such a small and passionate team! We are all so focused on the same goals its refreshing to work in an environment where there isn’t a strict hierarchy structure and everyone just works super hard because they love what they do! There is no such thing as Sunday night blues here!
What would you say is the most challenging part?
Having worked within social media and marketing since I left university, the most challenging part is definitely trying to explain the value to a different generation on why social media is such an important part of todays business strategy. I am passionate about what I do, and its often difficult trying to explain why my job is important and the return our clients can get from having a successful social media strategy and campaign.
If you were given only ONE tool/piece of technology to do your job – which tool would it be and why did you pick it?
My iPhone – 100000%. Ask any social media marketer and they would say the same. I can answer emails, access my reports, write and schedule content, carry out basic design needs and take photographs.
